The vignette based road tolling system of the Hungarian State Motorway Management Company operates with easyGo system since 2003. It started with physical vignettes, but after years of development, it was changed to electronic vignettes in 2008.
The Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission created a study on the vignette toll collecting systems in Europe. The study compares seven counties' systems in detail. Hungary (operated by easyGo) and Austria came out on top of the comparison.
